Cube World - Open World Exploration Procedurally Generated RPG

CUBE WORLD

Cube World, gloriously genius crafted game, why? because it's a world where everything its procedurally generated, the mountains, rocks, trees, NPCs, Quests and all of it were no easy thing to a beginner programmer. It's a sandbox open-world exploration RPG that uses procedural generation for all its content with relying only use of gradient and colors (no textures). Character's appearances are cute and fully customizable complete with classes and races. Currently there are 4 classes in this game: Warrior, Rogue, Ranger, Mage which later divided into sub-classes: Berserker, Guardian, Assasin, Ninja, Sniper, Scout, Fire Mage, Water Mage. The skills are also varied from exploration skills and class skills. Leveling-system is pseudo-infinite, because the game uses Power levels for item's requirement. At this moment, the game still on alpha stage but its already very playable. Development's quite slow since this is only a hobby project.

I'll update this post later on, I have lots to talk about this game, but still looking for words to polish this post more informative and tidy. :)

McAfee On-Access Scanner Disabled

McAfee is one of my trusted antivirus despite being the most RAM consuming process, still the methods that are used is working pretty well like denying access to files. I've been using this for 5 years, so far my computer runs smoothly with no problems.


To the Problem:
I'm just sharing my experience when encountering problem with McAfee VirusScan Enterprise's On-Access Scan being disabled or all other options to change McAfee settings disabled. There could be few reasons for this :

• There could be viruses/malware that disable McAfee System
• There is a Password Protection that disables the options. (The one that is entered during installation)

You can go to Tools > Unlock User Interface.. using your entered password during installation, to unlock the options and others. For the 1st Problem, you may try to either reinstall McAfee or search other solutions online. I may provide the solution if requested.

BSOD : Blue Screen of Death HOW-TO-FAKE Tips

I've come with an idea to make a bluescreen, I've searched the internet and managed to find the infos on how to make one. a fake bluescreen.

Here it is:

A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage
to your computer.

The problem seems to be caused by the following file: NOTGUSS2012.SYS

EVENT_NOT_GUSS_ENOUGH

If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen,
restart your computer, If this screen appears again, follow
these steps:

Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed.
If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer
for any windows updates you might need.

If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware
or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing
If you ned to use Safe mode to remove or disable components, restart
your computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup Options, and then
select Safe Mode.

Skyrim data files empty or blank?

Been trying to find this solution for awhile, but I managed to fixed it myself.
you may know me from yahoo, as the same name GUSSYGOOSE.

Problem Identity
If you have these kind of problems:

1. Skyrim Data Files button on Skyrim Launcher not greyed out.
2. No esps or esms shown on the list.
3. But there ARE esps and esms on your skyrim data folder.

Then the solution is on your system registry.
When this game is installed, it placed three keys and a string value on your registry
to detect whether skyrim is installed or not.
however some computer may encounter this kind of problem.

 In Registry, the folders are called keys and the ones inside it are called values. The type of value that is used in this problem is String Value.

All you need is to create those keys and make a string value under the "Skyrim" key. change the string value into your skyrim installation directory.

Lets get to it then. How?

There are two ways to do it.

Automatic Installation

1. Download this file: http://filesmelt.com/dl/Skyrim.reg (notify me if the link is broken)
2. Move it into your skyrim directory. (e.g. C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Skyrim\)
3. Double-click the Skyrim.reg. Select Yes if prompted.

This will automatically insert the required string values and registry into your system registry.

Manual Installation

• Open up your Windows® Regedit.
• Find this folder : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Bethesda Softworks/Skyrim
• Extra step: If that doesn't exist create it. Also create a new string value inside Skyrim Key and rename it into "Installed Path". see screenshot for details.
• Make sure you set the string value by your skyrim installation directory.    
• example: E:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Skyrim\

I use x64 bit version of windows and works fine with the steps above.
But some may experience problem. You can use Digg's tutorial below if it didn't work.

x64 bit users need to make that string in

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Bethesda Softworks\Skyrim

and then start SkyrimLauncher.exe, wait a second, if it still doesnt appear, then click "Play" button.


You can copy this http://pastebin.com/tgq5rZbe to notepad, save it as something.reg then 2x click it and import it to registry. It should work.
